Yes, I read that. Giorgio Vasari wrote a book about the most prominent artists in painting up to his time but it is not very reliable, too many unsubstantiated observations. Still has great value and we can learn a lot from this first art historian.
Wonder what Vasari’s motive was as Verrocchio continued painting until his death. He was a wonderful artist.
