Republican Jesus - Give your money to the Poor
Democrat Jesus - Give other people’s money to the poor (money that you forcefully took from them).

Can we assume Pope Francis is selling off the lands and properties of the Church to 'give to the poor'... or is he talking about taking OUR lands and wealth?

Come on Francis - let's the the clergy of the Church REALLY live in poverty... the spender of the Vatican puts most palaces to shame.

We're NOT blind out here Francis...

Okay, Francis, you and the Catholic church first. Many billions of dollars to parcel out.

Well obviously this Pope should not lecture anyone on finances.... However dawg, for some context...and since the Pope only heads the Church...he is NOT THE Church...

Figures for ALL combined yearly charitable spending is reported to be in the $30-40 BILLion range...The entirety of Catholic Church charity throughout the entire world however is inestimable.

The Roman Catholic Church employs over 1 million people - and is the largest non-government provider of health care services in the world. It operates around 18,000 clinics, 16,000 homes for the elderly and those with special needs, and 5,500 hospitals, with 65 percent of them located in developing countries...

In addition, the Catholic Church operates the world's largest non-governmental school system. In 2016, the church supported 43,800 secondary schools, and 95,200 primary schools in the world. These are NOT widely known facts....

As our stolen election installed President* is know to say.... its a pretty big deal.....

The Bible says it was done among the people of a congregation with the same beliefs and values, Francis. It was not an extortion to benefit the surrounding pagan culture.

Jesus controlled the purse and directed the expenditures. Also, the apostles were ‘family’. And of course, family shares with and helps each other.

said Jesus, leave the towns of those who reject The Word and shake the dust of their town from your sandals. For they will not be welcome (will not share) in His father’s kingdom.

Is Francis going to claim that he has no claim to all the bling surrounding him and is going to share it out with “a group of male and female prisoners from three local prisons, a migrant family from Argentina, refugees coming from Syria, Nigeria and Egypt, and religious sisters who work in a local hospital”?

The Anti-Pope will live forever as the one who takes down the Roman Church. Next will come selling off all the Church assets to “Feed the poor” and use the Churches as homeless shelters.

The pope fails to mention the circumstances at the time. There were Jews from the whole Jewish world in Jerusalem at the time. Those that became Christians on Pentacost and after wanted to stick around and learn about their new faith before going home. They needed places to stay, so the local believers gave them one. They weren’t living in a commune (and you know what Archie said about those that live in communes).

Wrong. When goods are forcefully “shared” by a third party called government, that is called theft.

That may very well all be true, but it was not what I was referencing. The pope was referring to an entirely different concept as he quoted ‘no one claimed private ownership of any possessions, but everything they owned was held in common.’ as if we should all do that. If the Catholic church needs to keep its wealth intact to accomplish good, then the same concept applies to all of us, does it not?

Taken out of context, of course. Again.
Funny how he doesn’t mention that even in Jerusalem, the sharing was purely voluntary and not a requirement. Then he also fails to mention the very real poverty that followed when people had nothing to add to the “kitty”.
The entire book of Acts could be a treatise against the consequences of pure communism.
Sooner or later you do run out of other people’s money.
