Not long ago, I saw the weirdest sight I’d ever seen in the sky: a headless creature with six undulating limbs slowly floated across my field of vision. As it started to wheel and turn towards me, it began to break apart! Once the mass separated, it became obvious: three turkey vultures with their heads down and flying close together were riding the thermals over a big parking lot. When I first saw them, my view was side-on to them.
