Moscow, November 16, Interfax - Metropolitan Hilarion, the head of the Synodal Department for External Church Relations, said he regrets that U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden has views that contradict the teaching of the Catholic Church, to which he belongs.
"It is very important that his civil position should be in line with the position of the religion to which he belongs. We know the teaching of the Catholic Church on the value of human life, on abortion, on sex change operations. Mr Biden has repeatedly stated views that contradict this teaching," the metropolitan said on the program Church and the World on Rossiya-24 television.
He said he hopes that, when Biden becomes president, he will follow the teaching of the Catholic Church, will protect human life, will not support abortion and will revise his position on sex change operations.
The metropolitan met with Biden in 2011, when he came to Russia as vice president of the United States. "That meeting produced a generally favorable impression on me," Metropolitan Hilarion said.

People need to understand that, democrats don’t have any religion, other than socialism/communism, and their party is their church. IOW, party before country and before the people, and their ideology trumps all else.

He is not Russian Orthodox.
And the Roman Catholic Church will not. There might be a few Bishops who will say he should be or refuse him communion but to officially be excommunicated he would have to do something really horrible in the eyes of the upper level of the Church.
