Pope Francis: Pandemic Proves ‘Magic Theories’ of Capitalism Have Failed, World Needs Political Reform
BizPacReview ^ | 10/4/20 | John Dougherty

Pope Francis criticized what he called the “magic theories” of market capitalism and claimed that the COVID-19 pandemic made it apparent that a new global political paradigm was indicated moving forward.

On Sunday, the pontiff enunciated his vision for a post-novel coronavirus world by combining the foundational provisions of his social instruction into a new encyclical aimed at pushing a new global unity.

The encyclical, “Fratelli Tutti,” or “Brothers All,” was released by the Vatican on the feast day of his patron peace-loving saint, Francis of Assisi.

The pope’s writings draw mostly upon St. Francis’ teachings as well as the pontiff’s own homilies that highlight sometimes gaping discrepancies in the global economy and its alleged negative effect on the planet, pairing them with his plea for more unity to combat the “dark clouds over a closed world.”

Francis even rejected the Catholic Church’s doctrine of justifying war as a means of self-defense, claiming that it had been too widely applied for centuries and, thus, was no longer applicable.

“It is very difficult nowadays to invoke the rational criteria elaborated in earlier centuries to speak of the possibility of a ‘just war,’” he wrote.

For the last seven months, we have lived in varying degrees, under economic totalitarianism. Govt decided what business could open how it could open, how it must be run. Sounds like what the Pope wants.

Magic theories?

Like the infallibility of the Pope? Certainly this Pope is an enemy of western civilization. The civilization that allowed his church to prosper.

This capitalist country handed out $1200 checks plus $600 a week boost to unemployment on top of already existing benefits.

How much help did China or Venezuela give their citizens?

I have a question: is there a single capitalist country in the world today?

Again - the Pope must sell all church properties and resources and give to the poor - then and only then will his words have meaning.

Remove the Catholic Church’s tax exemption, please. And then follow it with all the churches, no matter denomination, that are used for politicking.

Meanwhile, this virus originated where? In the lab of a communist state.

No offense to our Catholic brethren, but Francis is looking more and more like the false prophet of Revelation.

Frankie the Poop needs to step aside. Bring back the real pope, the one there before him.

Poop Francis is out of his papal mind if he defines mandatory business closures and prohibitions against work, “capitalism.”

Henry VIII was right. Keep the bishop of Rome out of the politics and policies of sovereign nations.

>>The boy cried as he had no idea what he was doing except what he was taught to do in school.

Kids who were taught to turn their parents in under Communism and Nazism probably were equally shocked.

Wonder if kids who tell their school nurse about their parents’ guns are aware of what they are doing when they answer those questions.

If he’s not a sign of the tribulation, then he is at least another Leo X and he will lead to a second schism if he is not removed soon.

>>The pope’s writings draw mostly upon St. Francis’ teachings<<

95% self-referential, only 2% St Francis,

I will never give another time to the Catholic Church unless and Francis is no longer Pope and the embracing of socialism/Communism stops entirely. If Capitalism is bad, then they don’t need money earned via Capitalism. I would suggest that we all start putting little notes in the collection plate, saying things like ‘Marx says religion is the opiate of the masses’, and ‘I was going to contribute, but my money is from Capitalism, which is offensive to the Vatican’.
