Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the Lord. For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water. ( Jeremiah 2:11-12)
The Noahide movement, which is literally attracting hundreds of former Christians, drawing them into Torah observance, and even to the point of renouncing Christ, comes straight out of Rabbinic Judaism.
Rabbis are the engine driving this resurgence of the Galatian heresy, and the sin which the book of Hebrews was written to warn against, as the point of no return.
I wish to say at the outset, that as Christian, I love the Jewish people. I love them because of Messiah, and for the Fathers sake. I also appreciate deeply the pain and sacrifice which they have paid for being chosen to be custodians of the Scripture, and the revelation of Monotheism, and mostly for being the receptacle of the Messiahs incarnation.
God definitely has a plan, a future and a hope for them, the Jews are destined to inherit the earth, and to be re-instated as the Priestly teachers they were called to be. Satan definitely hates them, because they are the sign and witness to the existence of God and the veracity of His Word. I also want to say, that AntiSemitism is Satanic, the very mark of Lucifer is virulent hatred of Jews.
On the other hand, there is an almost idolatrous love and affection for all things Jewish, in many christians and churches. It is one thing to appreciate that the Bible, the Messiah, the Apostles and even the New Testament are completely Jewish in outlook and orientation. It is another entirely to become enamored with Rabbis, the Talmud, the Oral law and even the Kabbalah.
As our scripture tells us, the Jewish people have changed their own religion, with the exception of a small remnant, they have forsaken God, the true source of Life, and hewn out broken cisterns which cannot truly give life, but have the appearance of doing so.
After the destruction of the Temple, the Jews had a severe problem. How do you practice the Judaism of the Prophets, of David and Solomon and Elijah and Jeremiah, without a Temple, Priesthood, Sacrifices, etc? One answer would be to repent and turn to Messiah, as the believing Remnant of Israel had done.
Another option would be to re-invent the entire religion. Rabbi Akiva and Johannon Ben Zakkai literally re-invented a new temple less form of Judaism, which we call Rabbinic Judaism. Instead of Sacrifices, they would offer Mitzvoth ie Good Works. there would be Rabbis instead of Priests and Levites, and deep devotion to God would take the form of Study of scripture and the Sages.
Thus modern Judaism, as it has evolved, is not the religion of the Old Testament.
The Noahide community, was a Rabbinic answer to Gentiles who did not wish to fully convert to Judaism; they would be conferred as Righteous if they subscribe to the seven universal laws, supposedly given to all men.
When Pastors stand up and tell their congregation, that we are going Torah or when they begin promoting concepts out of the Kabbalah or Zohar, such as teaching on the Metatrone, beware. They are falling into the slippery slope of the Noahide apostasy.
The Rabbis of today seem much more astute and aggressive than I ever remember them to be, there are excellent communicators among them, charismatic men who seem to exude a passion for the Torah, and a zeal to defend it against Christian desecrations of it. These Rabbis are using the internet to mass produce their ideas. Many are following their lead and apostatizing from the faith in a serious way, as I demonstrated in the first of this series.
Part of the problem is that The Torah is scripture, it is the Word of God, and Christians should recognize that. So also is the rest of the Tanakh ( an acronym, Torah, Neviim, and Ketubah, ie the Law, the Prophets, and the Writings ). One aspect which has set Christians up for this deception is the dearth of appreciation within the church for the Old Testament, which has created a serious void.
One example of this new kind of Rabbi, is Tovia Singer. This man is dangerous because he is an excellent communicator, an aggressive evangelist for Torah, and at times happens to be very interesting when he expounds on scripture, although he comes from a decidedly anti-Christian position.
Singer uses this method; According to the Rabbi, the only true scripture is the Tanakh, and the Tanakh was given to us in Hebrew. Therefore a non Hebrew speaker is at the mercy of the Rabbis to tell him what scripture truly means. The Rabbi then systematically strips away every Christian argument that Jesus is the Messiah, such as Isaiah 53, Psalm 22, Daniel 9 and Isaiah 9 and 14, asserting that the Apostles and even that Jesus were distorting the Hebrew scriptures, and even lying about them to put a Christian spin on the identity of Jesus.
He has filled the internet with his mini teachings, savaging Christian theology, seeking to dismantle the faith of Christians, ridiculing the concept of the Blood of Jesus, of Sacrifice, Righteousness as a free gift, Original sin, the virgin birth etc.
I am warning you that though he is quite wrong, He is very effective in this day of uncertainty and deficient theological knowledge. The comments after his teachings are the most shocking to me, for they consist of hundreds of testimonies stating, something to the effect of, I left Xtianity years ago .
Singer did enter into a debate with Dr Michael Brown*, an expert in ancient near eastern languages, in which Brown pretty handily refuted his claims on the basis of the Hebrew Scriptures. Not everybody is as equipped to deal with this, however.
In order for individuals, pastors, or Churches to go Torah, or even to go Noahide, they must turn their backs on the Righteousness of God in Christ, the worship of the Savior and Messiah, Jesus Christ, Salvation by faith and grace, and countless other blessings purchased by the blood of Jesus.
I know that Michael Brown is a defender of the Toronto false revival, and the moderation this debate is by Sid Roth, a hyper charismatic, but the Truth prevailed nonetheless.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I’ll definitely make an effort to spare Judaism, if only because that’s ultimately what God the Father would have wanted. However, I am NOT too fond of them after that bit. And if you guys do anything to attack us... well, let’s hope it doesn’t come to that, I’ll leave it at that.
600,000 is too large for when scholars date the Exodus. If you subscribe to the Hyksos hypothesis, an Egyptian historian states 200300,000 Hyksos were expelled and resettled in Jerusalem. Perhaps there were multiple Exoduses? But the archeological record does not support Manethos account, and associating the Israelites with the Hyksos may have been Manethos anti-Jewish sentiment - he hated Jews, and the Hyksos are not a flattering group to be associated with.
Between 400 B.C.E. and the Roman invasion, the worldwide Jewish population grew from under 100,000 to about 1.5MM and by 300 A.D. was reduced to only about 1020,000 people.
The Bible places the population at around 1.5 million yet the remains do not confirm it, the food production systems of the time would not support that large a population
Based on archaeology, you have a population of 60,000 in the early kingdom rising to about 400,000 at the end of the period. This would include Hebrews, Philistines, Canaanites, and Phoenicians.
The hill country under Samuel's leadership prior to the kingdom is estimated to have contained about 40-60,000. Phoenicia was more populous; likely Philistia was also. The hill people defended their territory most often by ambushes of the Philistine troops in difficult terrain. On the plains the Philistine chariots were dominant, but not so much in the hills.
Jesus could not have been just a "prophet" - He accepted people worshipping Him.
You either call Him God or you, ZC, call him a charlatan. No prophet-business
Ugh.
True that every Christian would already keep the laws that are called “Noahide” , but not as a “Ben Noach”. nor as an attempt at Righteousness conferred upon Gentiles by Rabbis. Christians would keep them be cause they are for the most part s scriptural and even re-iterated in the NT. Our Righteousness is given us as a gift, by Messiah, of whom it is written, “By His knowledge shall my Righteous servant justify the many”. As for being a loser, you are right. I am a loser, I am a sinner and have failed God, but have found Hesed, grace, through the Righteousness of His Son. I do not denounce “another religion” i call upon those who practice that religion to be consistent with it, and accept Messiah and the New Covenant which Jeremiah promised. “My people have committed two evils, they have forsaken me the fountain of Living waters, and hewn out cisterns for themselves, which can hold no water”. Such is Rabbinism, a false religion that Moses, Ezekiel or Jeremiah would never recognize.
