Oh. I meant to add that at first glance the immediate problem that I see with the 1260 years of the Roman empire/Catholic church abuses is that this would seem to be something the apostles were unfamiliar with. But I don’t want to dismiss it out of hand. Perhaps you have a thought on that specific issue.
I doubt the Apostles knew anything about who the Antichrist, the Man of Sin, the Little Horn, was, including the 1260 years of persecution. Neither did Daniel. The reason is that it hadn’t happened yet. It’s all coded prophecy and events simply had not transpired. The book of Daniel was shut until the end (which is now). Paul did know the Antichrist came from the Body of Christ initially (Son of Perdition, ravenous wolves entering the flock, etc....) and would betray just like Judas did. Later, all the Protestant reformers knew exactly who the Antichrist was after comparing scripture and history.
