For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. Therefore He says:
Awake, you who sleep,
Arise from the dead,
And Christ will give you light.
See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God. Ephesians 5:8-21 ~~
Father God,
Wonderful Creator, Maker and Destroyer, Comforter and Healer, hear our prayer!
We thank You, Father, for our remaining freedom, for our ability to own Bibles, to contact one another online and to worship You in our homes and hearts. We thank you for this Forum and its founder, Your servant James and his son John, who enable this online daily prayer vigil.
Our nation is in strife and turmoil, fighting stealth attacks from many directions. Our national sins are grievous and we do not deserve forgiveness. Yet you have promised it to those who believe in You. To Your promises we cling; on Your promises we rest our weary souls.
Father, we are in great need of Your altars, Your sacramental meal, the hearing of Your holy Word, and corporate worship. Bring about their reopening, we pray!
The deceiver has sown global misery now, and particularly here in America, to whom the world has long looked for leadership. We ask Your Divine intercession for our President and Administration, and for our People, that we may demonstrate that we are still worthy of the Founders provision for self-government. First and foremost, may there be a sweeping revival of faith in the One God, Jehovahthe True Governor of our lives.
In particular, dear Lord, in one election after another, sweep away the dregs of sanctimonious liberalism and marxist progress that have so dispirited our nations People. Disrupt the flow of money from billionaires and foreign countries who are funding unrest among ourselves against our Constitution and traditions. Replace the power-mad governors and legislators of those failing states that are in economic catastrophe due to draconian shut-down orders and overzealous policing. Protect the taxpayers in prudent states from exploitation by mismanaged states.
We ask your healing hand on racial relations in this nation so grievously wounded by the actions not just of individuals, but also by the relentlessly godless, poisonous and untruthful words from the universities and media. Even as we acknowledge the sins of the past, let hope, brotherhood and reconciliation among our citizenry drive out fear and hatred.
May the present crisis bring forth renewed confidence in conservative leadership for the good of all, individual liberty and free enterprise, from Federal officeholders through all levels of state and local governments, sheriffs, police officers, judges, licensing and HOA boards and especially the bishops and elders who govern the affairs of churches. May they have no king but Jesus and no principles of law but those that flow from His Word.
In His Name we pray,
Amen.

Psalm 73
A Psalm of Asaph.
1 Truly God is good to the upright,*
to those who are pure in heart.
2 But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled;
my steps had nearly slipped.
3 For I was envious of the arrogant;
I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
4 For they have no pain;
their bodies are sound and sleek.
5 They are not in trouble as others are;
they are not plagued like other people.
6 Therefore pride is their necklace;
violence covers them like a garment.
7 Their eyes swell out with fatness;
their hearts overflow with follies.
8 They scoff and speak with malice;
loftily they threaten oppression.
9 They set their mouths against heaven,
and their tongues range over the earth.
10 Therefore the people turn and praise them,*
and find no fault in them.*
11 And they say, How can God know?
Is there knowledge in the Most High?
12 Such are the wicked;
always at ease, they increase in riches.
13 All in vain I have kept my heart clean
and washed my hands in innocence.
14 For all day long I have been plagued,
and am punished every morning.
15 If I had said, I will talk on in this way,
I would have been untrue to the circle of your children.
16 But when I thought how to understand this,
it seemed to me a wearisome task,
17 until I went into the sanctuary of God;
then I perceived their end.
18 Truly you set them in slippery places;
you make them fall to ruin.
19 How they are destroyed in a moment,
swept away utterly by terrors!
20 They are* like a dream when one awakes;
on awaking you despise their phantoms.
21 When my soul was embittered,
when I was pricked in heart,
22 I was stupid and ignorant;
I was like a brute beast towards you.
23 Nevertheless I am continually with you;
you hold my right hand.
24 You guide me with your counsel,
and afterwards you will receive me with honour.*
25 Whom have I in heaven but you?
And there is nothing on earth that I desire other than you.
26 My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength* of my heart and my portion for ever.
27 Indeed, those who are far from you will perish;
you put an end to those who are false to you.
28 But for me it is good to be near God;
I have made the Lord God my refuge,
to tell of all your works.
Amen and amen to this wonderful psalm of atonement and gratitude, and thank you for your selection of it, dear DarthVader!
We pray in the Spirit of our LORD, JESUS CHRIST!

Troparion Tone 4
O Christ God, You have ascended in Glory, / Granting joy to Your disciples by the promise of the Holy Spirit. / Through the blessing they were assured / That You are the Son of God, / The Redeemer of the world!
Kontakion Tone 6
When You had fulfilled the dispensation for our sake, / and united earth to heaven: / You ascended in glory, O Christ our God, / not being parted from those who love You, / but remaining with them and crying: / I am with you and no one will be against you!
