All the piles of gold in Vatican City just didn’t walk in off the street on its own accord.
If you think about it the Catholic Church is a quasi-nation state with agents (priests) nearly everywhere in the world and that would lend itself to money laundering on a massive scale.

Andrew Bolt is probably no relation to Robert Bolt, the playwright who wrote A Man for All Seasons. Robert Bolt was from a Methodist family and apparently was not religious, plus he was an Englishman, not an Australian.
