Exactly. The Christian ethic recognized that unconstrained sexual expression quickly becomes exploitative and brutalizing for those lacking wealth, status or power. This is a constantly recurring theme, apparent to anyone who looks closely: rich, powerful and promiscuous people, who are usually able to buy their own way out of trouble, leave a lot of human wreckage in their wake. Modern sexual liberals believe essentially that the abortion license and the welfare state sufficiently mitigate these problems, so that promiscuity can be made safe. A national illegitimacy rate of over 40 percent ... over 50 percent for Hispanics and over 70 percent for blacks … with illegitimacy driving EVERY social problem … well, that's acceptable collateral damage; all that counts is that it's easy to get laid.
But Christian ethics meant a profoundly improved lot in life for women, children, the enslaved, and the poor.
