Because sex is EEEEEEEEEVIL.

Oh, is that why Martin Luther believed in the perpetual virginity of Mary?

    V. That the Son became man in this manner, that He was conceived, without the cooperation of man, by the Holy Ghost, and was born of the pure, holy [and always] Virgin Mary. The Book of Concord, the Confessions of the Lutheran Church.

But wait, he broke his vows, and got married. And had children. So, that doesn't make sense. Or do Lutherans believe his children were also by virgin birth?

Or, most likely, your conclusion is just another non sequitur.

Luther corrected a lot of the errors in the catholic church. He did not get them all.

Marty was a die hard Catholic, with all its baggage...Some bad habits are hard to break...He never left the Church...The Church left him...

Because he had grown up being indoctrinated by Rome.

God does not correct all ones errors immediately on salvation.

There's growth in the Christian life and learning more about God and the Truth as one spends time in His Word.

As a believer does that, the Holly Spirit will reveal to the believer what HE knows the believer needs to know and deal with in HIS time.

Growth in the Christian walk is a very individual thing and God does not cram us all into a box and make cookie cutter Christians.

Why is that an issue.

The Catholic church had ex-communicated him.

Why would those vows mean anything at that point?

I don't see that anyone needs to be held to vows they make to someone who has sent him packing.

As fun as it would be to see how long it’d take you to break down into profanity like the other Roman on the thread, I have better things to do than to play your little gotcha games.

“But wait, he broke his vows, and got married. And had children.

Blessed Saint Luther realized from scripture that the vows of celibacy were unscriptural.

He married a former nun who (along with many) was destitute.

As married couples are commanded to do, they bore children.

Their marriage and home were a blessing to many.
