Actually we are heavily Protestant because the new world was one of the few places Protestants could worship openly without fear of being executed by your fine sect for the sin of being protestant.

Just for kicks, I just now went and googled "who persecuted the Puritans" and two of the top sites which came up for me, and which are not Catholic, were
