Oh my gosh! The Aunt Peggy thread is so beautiful it makes me cry - and it’s working! I plan to read every single post to her when I go back to the hospital today.I’m with her and family and friends in Texas now. She’s beloved by many people and it’s wonderful to see that she has many visitors at the hospital.
To fill in, the first news I received from one of my cousins was that the heart attack was major and that it was worse than it could have been because Aunt Peggy thought that it was back pain and indigestion. She was also short of breath, but she’d had back surgery only a week before and though she must be tired from that.
The pain was severe for six hours when she finally went to the ER. (She was apologizing for causing inconvenience by being taken to the hospital. She’s just too nice!) When she arrived she asked her doctor if she had had a heart attack and he said, “No, you’re having it.”
(I’d like to let FReepers who might not be aware know that a symptoms of heart attack can be other things besides chest pain and left arm like we’ve heard so often before. Maybe a thread on heart attack symptoms will happen soon. Learning about different FReepers’ experiences could save lives. Several years ago Aunt Peggy’s brother, my Uncle Larry, died from a heart attack and the only symptom that he mentioned just before it happened was shortness of breath.)
[The Bad News]
The doctor also told them that her heart is too damaged (?) for surgery.
So, now for the good news!
Late in the day yesterday the doctor came by and he seemed a little surprised as he told us that her kidney function is improving and that, although her heart is extremely weak, he thinks that she will have to stay in ER for a long time but that she should recover!!!!!
I can’t tell you how wonderful it was to hear this news and how grateful we are for all of the prayers!!! Honestly, this news was such a contrast to the first news that we were all in shock. I was so brain-fatigued that I didn’t dare text or post late last night when I finally got to another cousin’s home! lol!!
I’m going back to the hospital ASAP and we all will be watching over and taking care of Aunt Peggy as best we can. She deserves to see how loved she is. :-)
Truly, I can’t express how filled with gratitude I am for all of the prayers of dear, dear fellow FReepers. There I go crying again! But it’s tears of joy this time!
I wish everyone could have an Aunt Peggy in their lives. It would make the world a better place.
Please keep the prayers coming! Gotta run!
Much, much, much love to all of you dear praying FReepers!
***hugs!!!!***

*Note although it feels like she is and maybe, she is now, Aunt Peggy is not my real aunt, she is Pax's aunt, we are related only thru the great FReeper prayer universe
