I will check those out and just as I feared, the old dog who was pulled back from the abyss is staring right into again, suddenly.
I have no way to get her to a vet, even if I could afford emergency services, whether to drag her back from the brink yet again *or* send her gently into that dark night.
All I can do is sit here and cry.
The $500 car mom got me last month to get us around is *still* being “worked on” by a cousin’s boyfriend’s father [how hillbilly is that?] and the tie rod they ordered for it is the “wrong one”.
[apparently no one knows about AutoZone or Advance Auto and their “fits your car exactly” online ordering services but me]
It was definitely supposed to be done Tuesday/Wednesday/today/tomorrow but now I have no idea when.
At least Lenny’s friend is going to bring him home Saturday, if I have no way to go get him.
Meanwhile, I took all his t shirts home to wash and he’s only got the same dirty one he’s been wearing since Monday.
It’s very hard not to feel utterly defeated right now.
Just heartbreaking.
Our beloved Lab(Cody) developed an insatiable thirst and
a problem holding his bladder. It was like a firehose he
would be sooooo embarrassed and sad as it happened more and more often.
When it first started we took him into the vet,
he had been so healthy the time had escaped us and they
couldn’t believe he was still alive and looking so good.
Cody was 15 years old, it was a serious illness
Cushings and very advanced, nevertheless they
wanted us to do several expensive blood tests to
determine what medication and dosage would be appropriate.
We had to say uncle when he went downhill fast.
Our daughter was out of town which made it even harder.
I am praying for your aching heart that you may have
moments of peace in your sea of troubles.
That Saints and Angels will surround and protect you
from further misfortune and that a bright future
though hard to imagine right now is
just around the next corner for you and Lenny.
God Bless

Thank for your kind words and I’m sorry for your loss.
I feel like a failure.
I know she’s old, I know she’s not ‘curable’ but the timing is wretched.
The past month and half [and even before] seem like a nightmare.
I can deal with this or that going wrong if it’s spaced out “normally” but so much in such a short time.
I’m just overwhelmed.

Well, she's walking through the clouds
With a circus mind that's running wild
Butterflies and Zebras
And Moonbeams and fairy tales
That's all she ever thinks about
Riding with the wind
Fly on, Little Wing
My condolences for the sad loss of
such a good friend and companion.

Thank you.
At least she went at home peacefully.
I guess I can’t ask for more than that, for her sake.
My condolences to you as well on the loss of your pet. It never gets easier losing them. :-(
Dear FRiend, my heart goes out to you in this time of
troubles. Wish there were something we could do in addition
to prayers.

Keep us posted and let us take what ever weight we can
off your shoulders.
No it doesnt.
Especially when theyve been with you for so long that they sort of become part of the background of your life.
The house feels weird and empty.
Only God knows what would be happening without ALL of the prayers and support you and everyone has offered.
I only wish I could express my gratitude as much as I feel it.
I just dont have sufficient good enough words to say what I want.
How many other dogs do you have ?
3.
The two Dobes and the Portuguese Podengo.
OK. I know some folks might only have just the one, which really makes the loss of one terrible. Perhaps in honor of your Djinni, you go out and get a rescue (when the time is right, of course). Not a replacement, but a new pet to love (and to get love from).
OH NO!!!
So they say.
Speaking as an agnostic, I just wish He didn't have quite so much faith in me!
...or Salamander.
Right now I have to focus on Gypsy, the podengo.
She and Djinni were REALLY tight and I worry it will affect her like Bubby dying did.
Need to really spoil her and keep her well.
She’s old, too.
