As I recall, Mark was a later scribe of Peter. We don’t know if Peter dictated Mark’s gospel, or if he wrote it from memory. I don’t think that he is thought to have been an eye-witness to the events he wrote about.

As I also recall, Luke was a physician and is believed (though not proven) to have also been the author of ‘Acts of the Apostles’. I don’t recall if he was an eye-witness or a chronicler of events he heard from the Apostles themselves.
