Pope Francis announced Monday that the Vatican’s archives on controversial World War II-era pope Pius XII would be opened up eight years earlier than planned, in 2020, a move seen as an olive branch to Jews who have criticized the Vatican for not doing enough during the Holocaust.
“The church is not afraid of history,” Pope Francis said, announcing the move in a speech to members of the Vatican’s Secret Archives. “On the contrary, it loves it, and would like to love it even more, like it loves God.”
Pope Pius XII did everything in his power to save as many Jewish people as he could.
I believe that the Chief Rabbi in Rome converted to CATHOLICISM BECAUSE OF WHAT PIUS XII DID TO SAVE JEWS!!

Agreed. That has nothing to do with the Vatican “Secret Archives”. Now go back and really read my other two posts, and the link that is in the second one.
As it is, you are acting like Mueller. You see the man (the Catholic Church) and you want all the information so you can selectively examine it and show us the crime. In addition to being a grave injustice, you know full well the world does not work that way. There are many things that are private (hidden—”secretum”) that are not corrupt.
(That said, if you *really do believe* the world does work that way and Jesus doesn’t want us to keep anything from being out in the open, feel free to PM me all your usernames and passwords for your email and social media accounts, as well as your plans for giving me keys to your house and file cabinets.)

Also, your logic is EXACTLY THE SAME as those who advocate mass public surveillance. “If you don’t have anything to hide, you shouldn’t be against it.” That kind of approach is unjust, no matter who it is directed toward.

He did. He even took the Pope’s given name (Eugenio) as his baptismal name.
The whole “Hitler’s Pope” nonsense is a bunch of slanderous propaganda cooked up by Communists well after Pius XII’s death. It’s too bad that many people (including some conservatives) believe it because of their hatred of the Catholic Church.

Also, you are forgetting—it’s not just the cameras, it’s the mass ONLINE surveillance. What does the government collect and collate that ties to YOU? What really is the process that is used in those secret FISA courts?
It’s unjust, and it’s leading to the Mueller-esque approach of “show me the man and I will show you the crime.”
