FULL TITLE: Psychology professor accuses GOD of being a sexual predator for impregnating the Virgin Mary 'without her consent'
A university professor has accused God of sexual misconduct for impregnating Mary, the mother of Jesus, without her 'consent'.
Eric Sprankle, an associate professor of clinical psychology and sexuality studies at Minnesota State University-Mankato, criticized the Biblical Christmas story, saying the Christian deity was 'predatory' .
'The virgin birth story is about an all-knowing, all-powerful deity impregnating a human teen,' Sprankle wrote on Twitter. 'There is no definition of consent that would include that scenario. Happy Holidays.'
Responding to Sprankle, someone else pointed out that Mary discusses God's plans with the angel Gabriel in the story of the Annunciation and tells him: 'I am the Lord's servant, may your word to me be fulfilled.'

Isaiah 55:8-9 ESV
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."
There’s nothing in the Bible that gives us marries age. It does say she was a virgin, and that word is sometimes translated as young woman. The main reason she is generally assumed to be very young is that the custom of the day married women off at a very young age.
But, her cousin being older might indicate she was older. It’s possible she was unattractive and undesirable physically, but quite compelling spiritually.
The Bible in Isaiah says about Jesus appearance that he had no form nor comeliness that we should desire him. In other words he wasn’t built and he wasn’t handsome.
If the Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, then an unattractive man might very well have unattractive parents. It’s comforting in a way to think that it’s what Jesus was saying and doing that made him such an attraction. It wasn’t how he looked
These are all just my own thoughts. Others might know more, and have better opinions
This guy characterized the Holy Spirit (God) -- the one who in fact impregnated Mary -- as a sexual predator, someone evil. He is speaking against the Holy Spirit.
31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. 32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come. (Matthew 12:31-32)
blapshemy is the final rejection of the call of the Holy spirit to salvation
This is not 'blasphemy'. This is dying in ones sins. blas + phemy requires speech (-phemy).
It amazes me that anyone can say that blaspheming the Holy Spirit is not possible today. They limit the sin to that period when Jesus walked the earth. I have found no such time constraint on this sin.
I am prepared to be corrected on this subject, if someone can show me clear scripture that I am in error.
Mormons claim God had actual physical sex with Mary, or at least they did at one time.
Some folks go into psychology in the (usually vain) hope of fixing their own wretched, sewer minds.
She did say “yes”.
.
Mormons also claim that ‘Jesus’ and Satan are brothers.
Mormonism is just White Islam.
I am not religious by any stretch. But, what this guy said is really outrageous. Can people just let people practice their faith in peace.
I first encountered this idea decades ago: Some parasitic academic said the Biblical narrative was just a rewrite of Zeus seducing some maiden.
Regardless, as many have noted, Mary gave consent.
As for so-called power dynamic disparity: That never bothered them between William and Monica.
Yep.

correct- meant to say the works of the Holy Spirit- attributing them to demons- that is the final straw with God- there is no more chance for salvation when someone does that
[[This is not ‘blasphemy’. This is dying in ones sins. blas + phemy requires speech (-phemy).]]
Note i stated that the person commits the act first- of attributing the work of God the Spirit to the Evil One- or Demons- this results in a final act of rejection of the Holy Spirit’s work in one’s life- there is there-forth on no more sacrifice for such people- they have made their choice to finally reject the Holy Spirit’s work in their lives-
I was aware of that. I still remember you from the MFJ.
I like that guess too. I studied marriages similar to what’s described (marriage made when the girl is a child but she doesn’t live with her husband until later) so I’ve imagined she was about 17 or 18
(average for those marriages).
Britain is GONE.
[[It’s important to pay close attention to the context of Jesus’ statement about this “unpardonable sin.” He was speaking specifically about the grumblings of the scribes and Pharisees. After witnessing the power of Christ displayed in the healing of a demon-possessed man, these religious leaders made comments like, “He has Beelzebub,” or “By the ruler of the demons He casts out demons” (see Matthew 12:22-24; Mark 3:22).
In effect, the scribes and Pharisees were rejecting the grace of God revealed in Jesus Christ. They were rejecting it by attributing Jesus’ works to the power of the devil. They weren’t just doubting or even denying the truth. They were maliciously contradicting what they had witnessed with their own eyes.]]
Says it better than i did-
This is not Britain
This is Minnestoopid.
Even if she didn’t.
But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.
Isaiah 64:8
We are his creation.
“And not a word about MO and Aisha.”
The “professor” enjoys things like breathing and having his head attached to his body too much to mock Mad Mo.
