FULL TITLE: Psychology professor accuses GOD of being a sexual predator for impregnating the Virgin Mary 'without her consent'
A university professor has accused God of sexual misconduct for impregnating Mary, the mother of Jesus, without her 'consent'.
Eric Sprankle, an associate professor of clinical psychology and sexuality studies at Minnesota State University-Mankato, criticized the Biblical Christmas story, saying the Christian deity was 'predatory' .
'The virgin birth story is about an all-knowing, all-powerful deity impregnating a human teen,' Sprankle wrote on Twitter. 'There is no definition of consent that would include that scenario. Happy Holidays.'
Responding to Sprankle, someone else pointed out that Mary discusses God's plans with the angel Gabriel in the story of the Annunciation and tells him: 'I am the Lord's servant, may your word to me be fulfilled.'

actually, though, it was ALL THE THING in those days for the other mostly-guy-”gods” to take human females...Zeus being perhaps the most active participant..(siring such as Hercules, Perseus, Helen of Troy, Minos, and Alexander the Great)....but there were MANY more “recreationally-oriented” gods. Indeed, it was/is one of the distinguishing features of the Jewish god that he took no mates, either “in Heaven or on earth”.. (though there were a few “outside the canon” type stories even about him....)

Well....no one has ever given an age to Joseph or Mary. It’s possible that she was 17.
well, she was below the age of consent (as we mostly now know it), though it was not unusual for folks to marry that young in her place and time...we must recall that the average lifespan was much shorter then, too...so not only did marriage sometimes come earlier but death also (meaning, if kids were to be raised ... it made good sense to try to get an early start on the job...)
