The epistle to the Hebrews states he offered up Isaac by faith and reasoned that God was able to raise him up from the dead.The letter of James indicates Abraham was justified by works when he offered up Isaac upon the altar and that his faith was cooperating with his works. Abraham's men were not there, remaining with the donkey. It was God, the Angel, Abraham, and Isaac at the altar.

But all of this was predicated upon Abram believing God when the promises were made. That was when righteousness was accorded to him....not as a result of the above.

6Then he believed in the LORD; and He reckoned it to him as righteousness. Genesis 15:6 NASB

It appears they are not open to learning. Sad to see such willful blindness, but there are so many whose pride will not let go, to absorb truth of the Gospel ... Not by works of righteousness but by His Grace ... all the glory belongs on Jesus, but so many have been taught the lie 'faith plus my work', and thus they soil The Grace.

When Abraham told the servants that he and the son would return to them, Abraham spoke his faith in the God of our salvation ...

Abraham's faith worked in concert with his works. Every instance of his faith in Hebrews is accompanied by his deeds. He continued in his faith and works, passed the test as it were, and his legacy is in our scriptures.

Consider incorporating this with the NASB passage:

When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die. Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die. Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal? Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord God. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord God: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.
