I disagree. You're describing the kind of laicite that fits France or, even better, China. "Equally" banning all religious groups is a good deal more tyrannical than banning all newspapers, or all political parties.

You know a lot of these conservatives aught to play the game, e.g. the conservatives join socialist club, the Christians join the transgender club, et.c...
Once in the appropriate club, they can combine their votes and elect one of their own to office. Then let the fun begin.

If it’s a private college or University, OK. But if the state, or taxpayer finding, are involved, I think they can’t prevent students organizing as Christians any more than as Socialists or Liberals or Croatian-speakers or Vegans. It’s invidious discrimination.
