The brothers were brothers in faith — the apostles.

**Jesus refused, saying, “I am not yet going up to this feast, for My time has not yet fully come” (v. 8). However, only a few verses later Jesus “went up to the feast” (v. 10).**

Key word — YET and “for my time has not yet fully come”

Jesus knew everything. He knew what to do and when, how and why to do it.

Wow....the Roman Catholic indoctrination is deep in you.

The context though shows you're understanding is wrong.

Remember....context if your key to understanding the Scriptures.....but as Rome has not formally explained this passage, I'm not sure how you can really understand what it means.

1After these things Jesus was walking in Galilee, for He was unwilling to walk in Judea because the Jews were seeking to kill Him. 2Now the feast of the Jews, the Feast of Booths, was near.

3Therefore His brothers [His brothers from Joseph and Mary. These are not His apostles/disciples as they're about to be mentioned] said to Him, “Leave here and go into Judea, so that Your disciples also may see Your works which You are doing.

4“For no one does anything in secret when he himself seeks to be known publicly. If You do these things, show Yourself to the world.”

5For not even His brothers [from Joseph and Mary....not His disciples] were believing in Him.

6So Jesus said to them, “My time is not yet here, but your time is always opportune. 7“The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it, that its deeds are evil. 8“Go up to the feast yourselves; I do not go up to this feast because My time has not yet fully come.” 9Having said these things to them, He stayed in Galilee.

10But when His brothers [from Joseph and Mary....not His disciples] had gone up to the feast, then He Himself also went up, not publicly, but as if, in secret.

Interesting, so you actually believe His Disciples are the "brethren who did not believe in Him?

And you discount the obvious separation of Christ's brothers and the Apostles, as differentiated in the text?

That's quite delusory...

John 2:12 after this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: and they continued there not many days.

John 7:3 His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest.

John 7:5 For neither did his brethren believe in him.

John 7:10 But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.
