Fr Thomas Rosica said the Church is now 'ruled by an individual rather than by... its own dictates of tradition plus Scripture'
Under Pope Francis, the Church is now openly ruled by an individual rather than by the authority of Scripture alone or even its own dictates of tradition plus Scripture, a Vatican advisor has said.
In an admiring portrait of the Pope, Fr Thomas Rosica wrote that Francis breaks Catholic traditions whenever he wants because he is free from disordered attachments.
Fr Rosica, a Canadian priest and media advisor to the Vatican, was writing on the website of Salt & Light Catholic Media Foundation, of which he is CEO.
The article, written two weeks ago, was republished by the news agency Zenit. After Fr Rosicas statements came to attention on social media, Zenit removed the controversial statement and replaced it with [ ].
Fr Rosica said that, as a Jesuit, Pope Francis is guided by the principle of discernment which at times results in freeing him from the confinement of doing something in a certain way because it was ever thus.

Good point. Better unmasked than masked.
Bergoglio is liked by liberal Catholics and liberal Protestants. Hes especially liked by Protestants because he acts just like a democrat politician. Hes liked by liberal Catholics because hes a liberal like they they are. Cant put it any simpler than that. I personally ignore any of his ramblings.
However, this would mean that the pope is not the supreme judge of what is heresy. And as said, whether a pope can be deposed against his will, is matter of debate (which it seems only a pope can settle).
Of course, just as you all consider a heretic pope to be no pope, and thus sedevacantists have had none for decades, based on their judgment that modern popes violate ancient Catholic church teaching, likewise do we fundamental evangelicals reject all popes of Rome as based on our judgment that all popes (versus Peter, etc.) violate the most ancient wholly inspired substantive church teaching, the Scriptures.
No wonder traditional RCs are called "Protestant" by mainstream RCs.
Yes, nor are most of ours.
You’re on.
Well, whoever is born of God will be in the kingdom, and which can include some in churches we exclude as as true churches, to varying degrees. Yet i believer there will be different levels when the Lord reigns with his elect, to the glory of God and praise of all. After the tears (incld. mine) at the judgment seat of Christ.
And that's about all Rome has left their members with...their own opinions as Rome has not dogmatically ruled on the majority of texts.
Youre a lapsed Catholic. You dont practice the faith. Nothing more. Quit trying to justify not practicing the faith by badmouthing practicing Catholics.
No...metmom is a born again believer....a follower of Christ.
Christianity and Roman Catholicism.....there is a difference.
Christ started one church and that church is the Catholic Church. Now you can disagree with that till the cows come home, but its absolute fact. The Catholic Church compiled the Bible and determined what was sacred scripture and what was not.
Sorry you're taking it so personal.
The only way I'd hate YOU is if you'll be coming up with extra biblical stuff like Rome has done for centuries.
There is my HATE: of the ‘sticks and stones’ variety;
and then there is Roman LOVE; of the ‘Break their bones’ variety.
Lapsing Reaganesque; ELSIE says...
Quit badmouthing non-practicing Catholics. Their faith is definitely more Publican than Pharisee.
Sorry for the vague Scriptural reference.
No; I have not read JESUS saying anything about ANTICHRIST.
But I do welcome reading the Scripture where He did.
HMMMmmm
I'm left wondering...
Who started them churches that John was commanded to write to in Revelation??
True dat.
The Greek Orthodox claim that they are the one true church and the Romans split off from them.
If by Catholic you mean the ekklesia...the body of believers in Christ....yes.
If you mean the mess that is the Roman Catholic church....no.
The Catholic Church compiled the Bible and determined what was sacred scripture and what was not.
Uh....no. The Roman Catholic church did not formally declare their canon until Trent....April 8, 1546.
No; I have not read JESUS saying anything about ANTICHRIST. But I do welcome reading the Scripture where He did.
I just gave you the 'first' place wherein the 'anti'- instead of Christ is named. The 'anti'- instead of Christ gets tossed out of heaven before Christ returns using a double edged sword for a harvest. The first tribulation is lies and deception ... because ill informed Christians have not done their homework!!!! They have a 'security-blanket' of a rapture doctrine that leads them into deception.
