Viktor Orbán says region ripe for revival of Christian, national identities
BĂILE TUŞNAD, Romania (ChurchMilitant.com) - Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is committing to propelling his country and all Central Europe into a "new era" transforming the region into a Christian bulwark of democratic nation-states.
Addressing supporters in the Hungarian enclave of Székely Land in Romania last Saturday, Orbán said he is eagerly anticipating next year's European parliamentary elections, as they offer an opportunity to thwart globalists' "goal of transforming Europe and moving it towards a post-Christian and post-national era."
"In European politics, it is the turn of the anti-communist generation, which has Christian convictions and commitment to the nation," the prime minister declared. The primary focus of the elections, he predicted, will be mass migration.
Orbán dismissed the European Union's executive body, the European Commission, as an oppressive, failing institution. The commission, he said, "is not a friend of freedom, because, instead of freedoms, it is working towards building a European socialism. We should be happy that its days are numbered."
The prime minister continued: "We should ask ourselves why the European elite which today is exclusively a liberal elite has failed."

Good for PM Orban!!!
I love these eastern European countries! Although he called them central Europe.
Wow, no political correctness ! socialism, communism, liberalism - all mentioned without apology :)
They are absolutely Central Europe. And Vienna will be back as the capital.
Eastern Europe starts at Minsk and Kiev.
I pray for Mr. Orban. Make sure you have tight security at all times. You are standing in front of the Globalist Crusades! “They” are not liking it at all. Think of that single figure who stood in front of the tanks in China at Tienenman Square.
President Trump supports the Hungarian view, but Mr. Orban does not have many allies close to home at all besides Poland.
Maybe that will change.
These are the organizing principals of the Holy Roman Empire 1200 years ago...under pressure from Islam.
An Empire that reigned over central Europe for 1,000 years and stopped Islam from seizing all of Europe.
I love Hungary! Wonderful Nation of friendly intelligent people. Budapest might be the most beautiful city Ive ever visited! Looking forward to going back next Spring!
On to Viktory!
Vienna as capital?
Perhaps it’s time to undo the catastrophe of 1918. Whatever its faults, the old empire was better than anything that replaced it.
Imagine a Central European economic confederation set up to defy the EU. We already have some of the parts in the Visegrad defense pact.
And imagine the restoration of ceremonial monarchy to handle the head-of-state duties.
Hoch Hapsburg!
Yep. I lived there twice. Wonderful city, very friendly people. I love Hungary.
Destroying the Hapsburg Empire was a huge mistake. It unleashed a lot of ethnic hatreds that the Hapsburgs had tamped down and it created an enormous power vacuum in Central Europe that would inevitably be filled by either Germany or Russia. There simply is not a single ethnic group in the region that is large enough to exert control. Therefore with lots of relatively smaller to medium sized countries, they were prime targets to be dominated by and feed the war machines of first the Nazis and then the Commies.
As with everything else done at Versailles, this was a huge blunder driven by French bitterness and envy toward Vienna as the cultural capital of Europe.
we are Central Europe. Eastern Europe is Russia, Belarus, Ukraine
But even this had three fatal flaws --
The Hapsburg and Ottoman empires were due to disintegrate - either in 1918 or in 1930s latest.
Good news!
So I guess what used to be the western Soviet union is now eastern Europe? And what used to be eastern Europe is now central Europe?
Well, basically Eastern Europe = East Slavs (Belarussians, Russians, Ukrainians). Central Europe = east of the line from the Netherlands through switzerland’s eastern border and Italy’s eastern border excluding the Balkans (separate region) and Scandanavia (separate region) — these are countries from Estonia to Romania that have economic commonalities
