I had an atheist recently argue with me that if God was all powerful then he couldn't be all good and if God was good, then he couldn't be all powerful - the basic Epicurean argument. His logic was that if there was suffering of innocent children and God could do something about it, yet the suffering remained, then it proved God was not good. No amount of evidence WRT free will and a fallen world was enough - his mind was already made up.
God tells us that without faith it is impossible to please Him and that whoever comes to God must believe that He IS and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
