The greatest example of irony was, that for centuries, the Church of Jesus Christ would torture and execute you for speaking against the teachings and practices of the church. Let that sink in for a moment. I'm still having trouble finding the chapter and verse where Jesus tells us to treat others who disagree with us like that.
