How is this a surprise to anyone.
Let’s get this straight, no pun intended.
35-45% of diocesan priests are homo.
50-75% (possibly more) of Jesuits are homo.
40%-? of Dominicans & Franciscans are homo.
Figures are worldwide but vary greatly by location. Seminaries also vary.
The bible does say the antiChrist won't care about the desire of women. I take that to me he will be gay.
No man should be without a good woman
Makes life worth living
One solution would be a radical transformation of the idea of a priest: require all priests to be married.
Newsflash! Sun rises in the East.
It's well known going for the Priesthood is better than going to
the local bath-house..and you get paid for being there!
The real problem is the “priesthood” is not at all what God prescribes in His Word for the Church.
I did. It was the best advice on marriage and has served us well for 20 years. So what's your experience that tells you that a typical parish priest is unworthy to share marital advice?
I think the question to be answered is what did you need that a priest could provide as a marriage counselor that you couldn’t have gotten if you had just read the scriptures for yourself ?

I think some, maybe not you, are conflating two correlated but distinct issues. 1) sexual abuse of minors by Priests, which is according to most estimates maybe 3 to 5% of priests vs. 2) How many priests have homosexual tendencies, which is I believe higher than 5%. Estimates vary but I seen ranges of 20% to 30% based on a book Goodbye Good Men by Rose which was published in 2002. The 2 issues above, in my view, are correlated since most of the sexual abuse was adolescent young men (post puberty) and priests. So in the context of the abuse crisis in the U.S. Catholic Church, which reached a crisis point around 2000-2001, it did have a homosexual dimension to it. But again, the stats do indicate that most priests (strong majority, including those with homosexual tendencies) did not abuse minors.
I think most Catholics Here pointed out in the past, correctly, that sexual abuse of minors is not something that was a unique Catholic clergy issue. Since 2002, we have seen public school teachers and minors on a daily basis, Abuse in the entertainment industry, and abuse in other religious traditions as well.
“So in the context of the abuse crisis in the U.S. Catholic Church, which reached a crisis point around 2000-2001, it did have a homosexual dimension to it.”
The crisis point was that it became public through the news media about the civil cases of abuse and cover up. But per the John Jay report, the actual instances of abuse that started to become public peaked in the late 70s-early 80s and quickly decreased. By 2000 the instances of abuse where at pre-1950s levels.
I would like to think the sexual revolution had a lot to do with the instances of abuse. But it could also be that much of the pre-1950 abuse was never later reported when the cases started to become public in the late 90s and early 2000s.

Your comment seemed to single out Catholic priests as being particularly unworthy of offering marital advice. I was wondering why.
That is interesting and I had never heard it before. I'd like to look it up. Can you give me a chapter and verse?
Daniel 11:37
He shall have no regard for the gods of his ancestors or for the one in whom women delight;[a] for no god shall he have regard, because he shall make himself greater than all.
He will show no regard for the gods of his ancestors or for the one desired by women, nor will he regard any god, but will exalt himself above them all.
He shall pay no attention to the gods of his fathers, or to the one beloved by women. He shall not pay attention to any other god, for he shall magnify himself above all.
It looks like that phrase "the desire of women" does not mean "sexual desire for a female," but rather "the god desired by women."
In short, his king does not honor
because he basically worships himself.
If you’re married, the answer should be obvious.
Ransomed: Yes the abuse was largely confined to 70’s and 80’s, it became a public crisis when it became public around 2000. That is what I was conveying.
LOL! Do you think priests grew up in families and observed the parenting of their parents. As well as other parents who may have been friends of his parents?
Many priests also attend a Marriage Encounter weekend and experience the power of couples on that weekend as they reconcile.
Do you think he might talk to some of those couples and get their take, their insights?
Plus priests take many classes, and I am sure that The Sacrament of Matrimony/marriage and its pitfalls and victories is discussed and dissected.
