VATICAN CITY Five years ago, Pope Francis was elected to be an agent of change within a church shaken by scandals and the historic resignation of Benedict XVI. He quickly became a global force in geopolitics, setting the agenda on climate change and care for migrants. World leaders wanted to be near him. Even non-Catholics adored him.
Today, Francis is increasingly embattled. The political climate has shifted abruptly around the world, empowering populists and nationalists who oppose much of what he stands for. Conservative forces arrayed against him within the Vatican have been emboldened, seeking to thwart him on multiple fronts.

It only makes sense!
Yes, this is true!
But you have such nice, preformatted posts, ready for this occasion.
How much credence should one give to an article written by a New York jew about a Catholic Pope? Jews aren’t exactly the biggest fans of the Catholic church or Christians for that matter.
Pope Francis is the worst pope in my lifetime.
Based on what standard?
His politics or his theology?
Both.
The Church is perfect for me.
Since Catholics don’t proselytize, I assume you have found or will surely find your perfect place.
Sorry if I offended you in some way.
The fact that he spends 90 percent of his time mouthing leftist socialist politics. He’s not a pope, he’s a vile politician.
Again, try staying on topic. Through two millennia of apostolic succession, yes there have been sinners. Indeed, we have Lutheran pastors committing adultery and murder. But this is not the point.
We have one true faith, and 30, 000 other useless Christian denominations, all heretical, where theology consists of “a” scriptural defense of married gay and lesbians pastors.
This is what happens when every semi-literate corner street Lutheran pastor gives “his” or “her” interpretation of a Bible authenticated by Catholic popes and bishops. You can see why Lutheran seminarians cannot buy into this Protestant nonsense and are converting to Catholicism.
The increasing irrelevancy of non-Catholic denominations is eloquently captured in the following article.

I'm quite sure that if there were any Aztecs around these days; they would probably disagree with you.
Please; try to stay up to date.
It's at LEAST 50,000 or maybe 80,000 by now!
What can you expect?
That Mary apparition won't come visit US and set US straight!
You guys were lucky; back in the early days; that the angel told John to write to those seven CATHOLIC churches, each with the One True Faith, in order for them to preach and teach with such unity and clarity.
Lend me your ears to hear with and your eyes to see, as well.
hmmmmm..... sinners by "apostolic succession."
I a particularly impressed that though the papacy was bought and sold, you believe in "apostolic succession" - don't remember the apostles authorizing this method of succession.
