I believe in God,
the Father almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord
(At the words that follow up and including "the Virgin Mary," all bow.) who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into hell;
on the third day he rose again from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy Catholic Church,
the Communion of Saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.
Amen.
We all agree that Mary was a virgin the time Christ was born. What is missing from the creed that Im sure you would like to add is the ever virgin sinless queen of heaven. That stuff that Catholics made up later is rightly missing from the early creeds of orthodox Christianity.
Christianity teaches you can know for sure that you have eternal life based on the promises of Christ.
24Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. John 5:24 NASB
Christianity and Roman Catholicism....there is a difference.
