I agree with an earlier post that Jesus was referring to an actual person named Lazarus and the Rich Man who was in Sheol and worried about his family.

There is a lot of confusion, I’m noticing, regarding sheol, death, hades, hell and Gehenna. It’s a shame because a study of each in the original text clears it up quickly.

We based our private interpretation on what we actually read in His word (If we read it at all) and what authority figures we choose to trust when they offer their personal opinion on what the word “means”.
i.e. arguments about scripture between sincere Christians always come down to their prayerful interpretation of what thy read and hear. And even the apostles had disagreement.

As a Christian you are compelled to believe in both.
I disagree. The Gospel is about heaven. It is the good news. It is salvation from the wages of sin as discussed all over the old and new testament, beginning with Genesis 3.
As a Christian I believe the Gospel is about the testamony of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus the Christ, who Gave his live that I may live eternally in his presence and have been saved from the second death. And that salvation began when I accepted his free gift and I was born of the spirit. This is something missing from the lost. They do not have an eternal spirit. hey SHOULD fear him that can kill BOTH body AND SOUL in Gehenna.
