We based our private interpretation on what we actually read in His word (If we read it at all) and what authority figures we choose to trust when they offer their personal opinion on what the word “means”.
i.e. arguments about scripture between sincere Christians always come down to their prayerful interpretation of what thy read and hear. And even the apostles had disagreement.
