Hollywood, Florida

October 13, 2017

Just weeks after Hurricane Irma gave Hollywood a pummeling, more than 25 volunteers joined in peaceful prayer outside the local abortion center.

“This was the first time many of us connected after the storm,” said Nancy in Hollywood, “and in spite of damaged roofs, blown away fences, and fallen trees and debris still littering lawns and roadways, all said that they were called to be here.”

A typical Saturday at this business will see between four and eight abortions. On this day, there was but one – “still too many,” Nancy said. “We are determined to be here until this facility is closed.”

“40 Days for Life is really working,” said Fatimah, the leader of this campaign.

“People are coming to the vigil point for prayers on a daily basis to ensure the end of abortion.”

Abortion is illegal in Nigeria – but abortions are unfortunately available nonetheless. This is a critical concern when it comes to secondary school girls, who will turn to abortion because they do not want to withdraw from their studies.

“Many female students are calling our team leader,” said one of the volunteers, “thanking her because they didn’t know the effects of abortion” or fully understand that “life is precious and worth living.”

The campaign will continue its outreach, particularly to the youth. “God is by our side,” the team member said, adding that they would continue “to visit most vulnerable places where young girls are committing abortion.”
