The Venezuelan Episcopal Conference (CEV) has publicly invoked the intercession of the Virgin Mary to free the nation “from the claws of communism,” in a clear reference to the regime of President Nicolás Maduro.

“Blessed Virgin, Mother of Coromoto, heavenly Patron of Venezuela, free our country from the claws of communism and socialism,” the CEV posted on Twitter this Sunday, complete with an image of Santa Maria and a Venezuelan flag.

What a twisted mind it takes to write that post! You KNOW that the Word of GOD actually tells you eating the bread and drinking from the cup is established as a remembrance until He comes for us. Are you not planning on going with HIM when He comes for those who believe in HIM without mocking?

The ECFS wrote a letter saying to AVOID blood. (ACTS 15)

Go figger

It doesn’t take a rocket surgeon to understand who wants folks mocking GOD and HIS commands.

Well, I ask you. If it’s (only) symbolic blood, isn’t drinking it symbolic blasphemy?

Again: yours is an unfunny and poorly-conceived attempt to accuse non-RC Christians via word trickery. You have left the pathway of reason and civility and are driving recklessly in an unfamiliar pasture and through the patties now.

You seem deeply reluctant to answer a short, polite, and simple question.

True, Elsie, that’s a good point: the first Mass, called the Lord’s Supper, called by the disciples “the breaking of the bread,” was a Passover Meal.

In the OT, the Passover meal was an annual thing.

In the NT, this sacred Meal was a daily thing:

“Every day they devoted themselves to meeting in the Temple area, and to the breaking of the bread in their homes.” Acts 2:46

Jesus did NOT partake in a daily rememberance.

Didja leave OUT something?

46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people.

Yeah your choice of leaving out verses 44 and 45 is a wee bit revealing.

Picking and choosing ‘traditions’ is always spotty with Rome’s followers

The disciples took part daily in "the breaking of the bread" as it says in Acts. This was after Jesus was ascended into heaven; yet He was also present with them in this "breaking of the bread" ---His real Eucharistic presence.

Paul tells his converts to take this very seriously. In 1 Cor 10, he calls their Eucharists "a participation in the Body of Christ" and " a participation in the Blood of Christ." Then in chapter 11, Paul says if they receive this unworthily and without belief, "not discerning the Body," they "eat and drink judgment on themselves" and they "will have to answer for the Body and Blood of the Lord." 1 Cor 11:27-29.

Hey...you skipped over something very important.....you have to have the entire context to get it right.

23For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread;

24and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”

25In the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”

26For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.

27Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.

28But a man must examine himself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup.

29For he who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself if he does not judge the body rightly. 1 Corinthians 11:23-29 NASB

Amen to every line of every Scripture you quoted. As I mentioned, this is all verbatim part of the Catholic Eucharistic liturgy.

The Roman Catholic understanding of the Eucharist (Lord's Supper).

And it most certainly was not conducted in the manner in which it is today in Roman Catholicism.

Their foundation is the sinking sand of an organization rather than Jesus Christ. It's a scary place for many.

Better to be a little scary before death, than a whole lot more scary after death, wouldn't you say?

Affirmative sir. It definitely is, but it's also blasphemous.

I wanted to show how Catholics pick out one quote woman unquote verse from Revelation and absolutely ignore the rest

That's weird Els. Let me say this also, unlike many FRCatholics, I knew next to nothing about the Bible. I knew it was the word of God, but I never read it, and didn't even know there was any such thing as the book of Revelation, though I think they call it Apocalypse.
I knew ithe Bible was about salvation, but I figured, as a Catholic, salvation was for others, but not for me. I thought most, if not all of the people in my Catholic high school, were OK with not having the slightest idea if they were going to Heaven or Hell. Obviously, I was not one of them.
