We are discussing Christianity....if we all agree that it is the true religion, then Catholicism becomes the true form....it existed from the beginning, not from a dissident priest 1,600 years later.
Help me out here...was first century Catholicism (technically NOT in the first century) the "true form" or the one that exists under that name today? Because they are definitely NOT the same. In fact, the word "catholic" (lower case c) wasn't even used for the first time until the early second century and it was talking about the universal faith of the Christian community made up of local assemblies whose members were part of the body of Christ, His bride.
Oho, so you DO admit that it’s truth, not age, that determines the worth of the church?
Since age isn’t a factor any more, now we can focus completely on how true the claims of Catholicism are in relation to the Word of God rather than some fatuous claims about being right because you’re older.
Then I’m going to accuse Roman Catholicism of heresy, and make the case that the Roman church has had its lampstand removed, just as Jesus has said to churches before—see Revelation.
Are you ready to answer my points about the lies that Rome has spread in blatant contradiction of the Word of God?
Which true form of Catholicism?
The Roman rite?
Or the Eastern Orthodox?
Or Ukrainian Catholic?
Or Greek Orthodox?
Or Russian Orthodox?
Or the tradionalists?
Or the sedevacantists?
Pre- Vatican 2 or post Vatican 2?
We are examples of really good Catholic teaching!!
