A surreal time for you, I know. It’s being in a state of bewilderment as you take on the Cosmos, alone. I always felt that this is a period when this lost beloved one becomes a part of you, and it is just surreal, this great loss.

My condolences to you. The cycle of the generations hits us very hard and our lives are changed, and wisdom comes. Very sorry for you, but I know you will keep your chin up and give him a fine burial. Keep us posted.

I think every single one of us would hope to pass over the same way as your Dad - a long productive life, surrounded by loved ones, secure in Christ, without pain and at peace. You have your tender, loving memories to keep close to your heart and, when once again you gaze upon his face, it will be in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ for all eternity. This time apart will seem but a moment.

Thanks for taking the time to update us. Our thoughts are with you and your family.

Then you have the assurance that one day; all of our tears will be gone and we’ll be re-united with our loved ones.

I hope to meet you both there someday.

Let us use our time remaining to spread the Word and bring others to that joyful place.

May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

We laid Dad to rest yesterday. The pastor did a wonderful job of presenting the hope of the Christian life and how Dad had walked with God. The old soldiers of his American Legion Post came during the visitation to perform the honor guard ceremony. Two soldiers from the Army Reserve were there to salute him at the cemetery and perform the flag folding ceremony. The ladies of his church served us a wonderful luncheon. So many people came to pay their respects and to reach out to us who survive. It was the perfect capstone to his time among us.

Thanks again to all of you for your kind words of encouragement during this difficult time.
