quote-The Sabbath was to commemorate Creation. The Sabbath points to God as The Creator. Did Adam not keep the Sabbath? Did Jesus keep the Sabbath? Did His Disciples keep it? Are you greater than these?
Bipolar, The Sabbath is important, as is all His 10 Commandments. He even discussed them, in code, with the foundational parable of the sower. That is the battle in Revelation 13 and 14..
But if I accept your premise about the Sabbath(and I do because of my journey in His Word)- let me ask some questions-
When did Christ die for our sins as the Lamb of God? Passover, according to scripture, or Good Friday, according to Rome? (this is a reference to the 1st importance of the gospel that Paul taught the Corinthians)
It is a fair question that most don’t think about. but there is reason why I asked- and it does pertain to the Sabbath and the Commandments.
Do you believe Friday is the 6th day, like Rome teaches, or do you believe Passover(14th day) is the 6th day, like the Father and Son teaches?
Do you believe Saturday is the 7th day sabbath, like Rome teaches, or do you believe Unleavened Bread(15th day) is the 7th day sabbath, like the Father and Son teaches?
Do you believe Sunday is the 1st day of the next week, like Rome teaches, or do you believe First Fruits (16th day) is the 1st day of the next week, like the Father and Son teaches?
Do you believe Christ died for our sins on Good Friday, according Rome, or Passover, according to scripture.
And if the answer is Passover- if Christ finished His work on the 6th Day, when Passover lands on a Roman Monday or Tiw’s Day (or any other day but Rome’s Friday), is that a problem for believer’s in Rome’s version of events or The Father’s version of events?
Where do you go to offer the appropriate sacrifices to keep the feast days? What Temple do you use?
And what priestly intercessor do you use that has been ordained and commissioned by God to do it?
And, hey, today is Saturday. Why are you here posting on the Sabbath?
He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.
Colossians 2:16-23 Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath. These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ. Let no one disqualify you, insisting on asceticism and worship of angels, going on in detail about visions, puffed up without reason by his sensuous mind, and not holding fast to the Head, from whom the whole body, nourished and knit together through its joints and ligaments, grows with a growth that is from God.
If with Christ you died to the elemental spirits of the world, why, as if you were still alive in the world, do you submit to regulations Do not handle, Do not taste, Do not touch (referring to things that all perish as they are used)according to human precepts and teachings? These have indeed an appearance of wisdom in promoting self-made religion and asceticism and severity to the body, but they are of no value in stopping the indulgence of the flesh.
