Elsie, What does Rome say a new moon day is, if it isnt one of His 6 working days or His Sabbath?
Have no idea.
As far as I can tell, the Catechism of the Catholic Church does not mention the new moon day.
Here is what Paul says about it, though:
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holy day, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Colossians 2:16
Paul was quoting Ezekiel on that..Specifically 45:17, rwa.
Ezekiel 45:17
It shall be the princes duty to furnish the burnt offerings, grain offerings, and drink offerings, at the feasts, the new moons, and the Sabbaths, all the appointed feasts of the house of Israel: he shall provide the sin offerings, grain offerings, burnt offerings, and peace offerings, to make atonement on behalf of the house of Israel.
But you left something out, rwa, that is pretty important- the next verse,Colossians 2:17:
‘Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is Christ’
Shadow of things to come-
Rehearsals. Not with the blood of bulls and goats or animals anymore-
But with the precious blood of Christ.
The meat and drink offerings on those days were done away with by the body of Christ. He paid that debt.
But those days haven’t been eliminated.
Isaiah even notes that new moon days and sabbaths will be around (Isa 66:23) in the future.
What people do on them is their business now.
Most don’t even know when they are.
But Rome has filled the void with their own days.
People who are into bible prophecy may see that as a bit prophetic in the end times.
