As with many things, especially those supernatural things of God and Heaven to which I include Mother Mary in life and now after her death, my standard, truthful answer is: "I don't know."

Fortunately for me, I didn't grow up on either side of the Family Feud you guys seem to enjoy so much, and also fortunately for my soul, my ego is a bit easier to control now than it used to be.

To me, the need to be careful with what you say and think about Jesus' Mom is that you could be calling a Heaven sent good a bad or evil thing.

The anecdotal evidence of Mary and what She has given us throughout history and in our present times is compelling enough for me to give Her and those with experience with Her the benefit of doubt.

In this and other things, I truly think it's best not to give in to one's inner Pharisee's lawyerly ways.

The ego and its rational mind are too easily played, and never more so than in the heat of battle.

No need to defame other people...particularly since with out the reformation the people in the pews would not have had access to a Bible....only someone’s reading of it. Considering that the current pope is a communist you may want to check yourself

I do not understand why you are telling me this. Rome did not foster but hindered Bible literacy among laity , judging them better off without this.

And Francis, whom you and I defame, is quite the socialist, whose social teachings RCs are to give assent to, unless they want to be evangelicals who ascertain the validity of teaching in the light of historical teaching, except in this case it is Scripture, as with the noble Bereans.

“There’s a lot of truth in this statement by Vlad. Problem is....he doesn’t realize what it is.”

Everything I said is true. And I realize all of it is. You will invent want you want. I will simply post the truth.

“If you don’t converse when posted to just call names or make false accusations.”

In post 235 who was called a name? I made no false accusations. Everything I said is true.

“SOP and does not contribute positively to the debate.”

There is no debate. Anti-Catholics here can’t debate.

Plenty of Catholic die as heretics.

What’s your point?

Interesting as all people that are baptized by the Catholic church are declared to have the indelible "Mark of Salvation" and remain Catholics even when they reject the "Church" for a relationship with Jesus instead.

It's sad as it is kind of a sinister trap as many Catholics are "baptized" as infants.

(Not a scriptural baptism BTW, but rather a sprinkling of water)

And it's made clear to them sometime after they reach the age of reason that there is no escape.

Fortunately Jesus made it possible to move to a relationship with Him quite easily. Thank God for that.

And isn’t heresy (like Protestantism) a corruption in itself, a corruption of truth?

An absurd broadbrush concerning millions of born again Christians.

Jesus is the way, the life, and the Truth.

“An absurd broadbrush concerning millions of born again Christians.”

Not absurd. If sola scriptura and sola fide are heresies, then what does that make Protestantism? And it a thing across it’s whole breadth is tainted by the same heresies, as is Protestantism, can it be said to really be “broadbrush” to note it or is it simply accurate?

Communism is stupid. Is that “broadbrush” in an unfair sense? No.

“Jesus is the way, the life, and the Truth.”

Actually, He is the way, and the truth, and the life. In that order.

Interesting that I responded to this in my next post to you before discovering this one.

Non Catholics will debate on any reasonable issue.

If you look closely, it will be clear that Catholics as a rule will NOT debate honestly on many issues.

Let the Holy Spirit guide you and it will be possible to join the debate in a positive manner.

I was attempting to get a point across to you about Truth, not quoting the scripture.

It seems to have gone over your head and brought another deflection of which you seem to be proficient in using when debate beckons to you.

“Non Catholics will debate on any reasonable issue.”

Anti-Catholics cannot debate reasonably.

“If you look closely, it will be clear that Catholics as a rule will NOT debate honestly on many issues.”

That’s completely false. Look at my profile page. Look for the link that shows one of three times here at FR when I not only caught an anti-Catholic lying but actually forced them to admit it. I have seen Catholics here make mistakes, but I have never seen one lie to a non-Catholic even once. NOT ONCE.

“Let the Holy Spirit guide you and it will be possible to join the debate in a positive manner.”

The Holy Spirit has already made it plain that anti-Catholics are incapable of reasonable debate. I don’t believe the Holy Spirit has much to do with anti-Catholics posting on FR. Hence, their multitude of errors and their continuous attack on Christ’s Church.

“I was attempting to get a point across to you about Truth, not quoting the scripture.”

teh point you got across was that you’ll change the wording of scripture to suit your “point”. Maybe you should have more reverence for The Word and not do that.

“It seems to have gone over your head and brought another deflection of which you seem to be proficient in using when debate beckons to you.”

What seems to go over your head is that is exactly what you did to suit your own purposes and the cavalier attitude you have about it. No debate beckons. And noting your deliberate twisting of scripture is not deflection on my part. Your failure is your own. Stop blaming others for it. THAT tendency is deflection.

Fair rules of debate and discussion and reasonable conversation don’t apply to Vlad as evidenced on this and many other threads.

But you cannot broad brush the rest of humanity into that level of demonic behavior.

The broad brush is used liberally <_____ (double meaning I know)

Catholicism needs to clean up it's act before constituents call outnon-Catholic denominations/members on their shortcomings.

It's be nice also if they did it in a Biblical manner.

Oh my gosh

Thanks for providing an excellent example of histrionics.

Remember the scripture that makes it clear that God does not approve of those that call evil good, and good evil.

We have Catholics here who use the term *divinity* in regards to Mary.

What they do is worship.

At the very least, the bowing down and such is a direct violation of the second commandment.

Exodus 20:4-6 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.

You can forevermore split hairs about whether what you do before her is Worship or not, but bowing down is bowing down and can be objectively seen and judged.

And God said NOT to.

Catholics are disobeying Him on that one, no matter how much semantic gymnastics they try to engage in to weasel out of the obvious.

Absolute balderdash.

The Catholic church is in no way responsible for giving Scripture to or preserving it for us.

Oh really?

Did He tell you Himself?

Hey, while we're on the topic of the Holy Spirit, why don't you give this question a try?

Does the Holy Spirit guide the college of cardinals in selecting the new pope?
