I just spent two weeks in Italy. The Italians got things pretty much under control, as compared with France, Germany and Spain, for example. They are still proud of their country and their culture and it shows everywhere. I felt very safe at all times. Especially since at almost every piazza they had a squad of actual soldiers with real weapons at the ready and who mean business.
That’s surprising & good to hear.
If you have to have soldiers scattered all across a city or country then you are definitely not safe.
