Meshech is Moscow

Tubal is Tobol, the capital of Siberia

Gomer is Germany

Togarmah may be what some now call Turkey (Turkisch) but only so after it was conquered by people basically from Kazakhstan, finally establishing the Ottoman Empire on that area which was previously known as "Anatolia"--in Greek meaning "The East"--because it was the lands east of Greece/Macedonia over which the Greeks and the Persians fought back and forth for centuries. As to whether Togarmah refers to the Turkey that we know is open to question, because that identification came long after Bible times--actually 2,000+ years after Ezekiel's time.

In Ezekiel 39:1 the word translated as "chief" (because it has the same sound as Rosh in Rosh HaShanah) should not have been translated. "Rosh" simply means "Russia."

“”Rosh” simply means “Russia.”

Because “Rosh” means “head or chief” and sounds like Russia, in English, one shouldn’t presume it “simply means Russia”.

Russia, Rossiya or Rus (by name and ethnically in European part) are actually from Scandinavian countries, Sweden, in particular - Nordic too from Finland.

But, if we want to take Russia, the very large land that it is today, then consider the non-European part of it too, which is in fact the largest part of Russian Federation, then you may have a point.

Genkis Khan (Mongol) invaded, though was NOT Russian (Tatars have the primary Mongol influence, tho as all others too even right thru to Poland). Kazakhstan were “Turkisch” (assume you mean a Turkic Nomadic tribe - also intertwined with Mongols), from Eastern parts of today’s Russia.

Closest ethnic and linguistic nation today to the Turkic (Turkisch) tribes of the past is today’s Turkey.

I ask again, where was China mentioned in the 2000+ years after Ezekiel’s time?
