Uh, I don’t mean to interrupt your nice friendly chat, however I do feel compelled to let you know that as an observer of your debate that I don’t see a lot of Christian charity going on between you guys. What I do see is a lot of vitriol and contempt and disdain and pride and presumption. Just sayin.
You guys are talking past each other and going in circles endlessly into the middle of the night.
Look, it’s easy. The Bible is the perfect, complete, and inerrant revelation of God’s Word to us as it was written down by its inspired authors in its original languages (mainly Hebrew and Greek).
Any translation is by necesity going to have word choices that don’t match the all subtle multiple meanings, the word definitions, the wordplay, the connotations, etc.It will be different, no matter how slight. At that point IT IS NO LONGER PERFECT AND 100% INERRANT.
All translations will by necessity have slight changes in meaning. Sometimes even an outright mistake. It can’t be helped. Why? Because the translator is not inspired directly by the Lord. Only the original authors were.
All Bible translations will contain the ocassional mistake in word choice or understanding of meaning. It’s inevitabke.
Now, we can work diligently to fix that. For example we have now recovered more of the original texts than ever before (Dead Sea Scrolls, etc), sources that the KJV scholars didn’t have. And so yes the KJV has mistakes.
For example the KJV scholars, as good as they were, had messed up on the translation of the Book of Job quite a bit. It’s because it is the oldest book in the Bible in terms of when it was written down. It’s not even Hebrew. The Hebrew in it is actually the translation of an even older language, now lost. Because of this the Hebrew is weird because it uses words and phrases that appear no where else in the Bible.
The KJV is imperfect. The NIV is imperfect. They all are. I’m sorry.
So you need to use the Holy Spirit to help you discern which translation to use. Then let the HS guide you in reading it and understanding it. (Paul said that’s mandatory.)
Just remember that you are reading the most important and edifying and precious and glorious book ever written. Maranatha!

Can you provide one verse to back up your claim. Or is everyone just supposed to take man's word for it.
Provide one Scripture verse, where it says God is unable to preserve His word. Just one, thanks.
