Evangelicals Didnt Even Study for This Test
...this year, LifeWay used more stringent criteria for evangelical faith, as defined by some group called the National Association of Evangelicals. Only participants who called the Bible their highest authority, said personal evangelism is important, and indicated that trusting in Jesus death on the cross is the only way of salvation, were labeled evangelical. They totaled 586 survey-takers.
Everyone expected them to perform better than most Americans. No one expected them to perform worse. Seven in ten evangelicalsmore than the population at largesaid that Jesus was the first being God created. Fifty-six percent agreed that the Holy Spirit is a divine force but not a personal being. They also saw a huge increase in evangelicals (28 percent, up from 9 percent) who indicated that the Third Person of the Trinity is not equal with God the Father or Jesus, a direct contradiction of orthodox Christianity.
As before, its really the contradictory answers, not the outright heresies, that should most concern us. By definition, the evangelicals in this survey believed that only those who trust in Jesus Christ alone as their Savior receive Gods free gift of eternal salvation. Yet nearly half agreed that God accepts the worship of all religions including Christianity, Judaism, and Islam.
Former Newsday religion reporter Kenneth Briggs recently told Religion News Service that the faith he finds in mega-type churches is a Bible-less, alternative version of Christianity. Scripture, he says, has become a museum exhibit, hallowed as a treasure but enigmatic and untouched.

Grow up!
Your Welcome:^)
By the way, I sincerely hope that YOU keep replying, I have so many more wonderful “molehill” graphics to share with you and others.
I point out that your throwing a large portion of the Old Testament into the garbage can is an outright denial that the Holy Spirit is a pefect part of the perfect Holy Trinity and rather than deal with that fact you attack me. Fine, have fun.
Keep yelling, Give us Barabbas and telling everyone that's just your way of following Christ.
It doesn't alter the fact that by throwing Scripture into the garbage you're denying the deity of the Holy Spirit and thereby, Jesus Christ and God the Father.
Matthew 12:30 He that is not with me, is against me : and he that gathereth not with me, scattereth.
Matthew 12:31 Therefore I say to you : Every sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven men, but the blasphemy of the Spirit shall not be forgiven.
Matthew 12:32 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him : but he that shall speak against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, nor in the world to come.
All you need is the faith of a mustard seed and that same Holy Spirit you blaspheme will show you the Way, the Truth, and the Light.
Wow. So, you're not only blaspheming the Holy Spirit but bearing false witness, too. Been to confession lately???
If it really bothers you, just toss out the book of the Bible you think I rewrote and the problem is solved for you exactly the same way throwing those other books out of the Bible makes you happy by helping you hide from what you don’t want to see.
Where does it do that, you may ask? One example II Thessalonians 2:7, "For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.". Now that term, "he who now letteth will let", is confusing to a modern English speaker since the word "let" now means "to allow". In newer translations, that verse is rendered in a way that makes sense. Such as:
New Living Translation
For this lawlessness is already at work secretly, and it will remain secret until the one who is holding it back steps out of the way.
English Standard Version
For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way.
Berean Study Bible
For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work, but the one who now restrains it will continue until he is taken out of the way.
Berean Literal Bible
For the mystery of lawlessness is working already; there is only the one at present restraining it, until he might be gone out of the midst.
New American Standard Bible
For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way.
Even the NIV gets it right:
For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way.
That is why it is untrue that ONLY the KJV is the acceptable Bible version for English speakers. As long as we have manuscript copies in the SAME language as they were first written, we have a reliable resource for knowing what is or isn't a "good" translation. Add to that, the readily available online resources that compare versions, lexicons and concordances that show us the actual words in Hebrew or Greek, PLUS the Holy Spirit who will lead us into all truth and we really have what we need to know God's word.
Don't get me wrong, I love the KJV and it was THE version we studied in Bible college. Most of the verses and passages I STILL have committed to memory are from the KJV. It's just nice now to have all these additional resources to communicate God's truths to us.
Oh?
Then WHY did these perfect translators translating GOD's perfectly preserved words INCLUDE the Apocrypha in the 1611 bible?
Oh; I will; for I await any logical answers to the host of questions that I've asked you in my replies.
Call no man Father is left in Catholic scripture; isn't it??
Yet Catholicism can spin this away with ease.
I'm not afraid of Rome's loosely packed strawmen.
If the way Rome teaches it's members to practice their faith is a bit on the iffy side; not to worry; for Mary will make yet another visit to Earthlings to get the CORRECT message out.
On neutral ground; I’ve just received the latest edition of National Graphic magazine.
It has a nice little article about nuns in Puebla Mexico.
The few pictures I saw intrigued me, so I looked in GoogleEarth to zoom in on this town.
I was stunned by the sheer beauty of the Catholic churches located there. Many 360 pictures of interiors.
![]() 'When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said, in a rather scornful tone, ' it means just what I choose it to mean, neither more nor less.'
'The question is,' said Alice, 'whether you can make words mean so many different things.' 'The question is,' said Humpty Dumpty, 'which is to be master - that's all.' |
Talk about DENSE! Not only do you IGNORE the facts repeatedly given to you about the Septuagint (LXX), why don't you ever answer the questions posed to you about it? You know, like the one about the LXX actually containing 15 additional books yet your Catholic church only kept 7 and threw 8 of them in the garbage??? Don't YOU have a "subset", too?
Nice try, but you should check your Etymology on that one. It meant then what it means now.
let (v.)
Old English lætan (Northumbrian leta) "to allow; to leave behind, depart from; leave undone; bequeath," also "to rent, put to rent or hire" (class VII strong verb; past tense let, leort, past participle gelæten), from Proto-Germanic *letan (source also of Old Saxon latan, Old Frisian leta, Dutch laten, Old High German lazan, German lassen, Gothic letan "to leave, let"),
No, just this part:
boatbums looked upon the fruit on the tree of Self and Self Alone, it was fair to the eyes, and delightful to behold: and she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, then admonished those who had not eaten the fruit of the tree saying, Whosoever defends the perfection all three members of the Holy Trinity is not Christian.
Do you think the Holy Spirit inspired you to write that mangled Genesis 3:6 version? (hint...He didn't)
