2 Peter 2

The Health Risks of gay sex.

When the Nation no longer knows what a PERVERT is; then I guess an AMPLIFIED tact must be taken with the Scriptures.

Same way with those who have been TAUGHT in our public schools that homosexuality IS part of 'natural' relations!

When I think back on it, Baptist sermons were (and may still be, I don’t know) heavy on the guilt-tripping and emotionalism, rather than the relative intellectualism I found in the Lutheran church.

I find a bit of both in my choice of a Wesleyan congregation.

I teach SS to an older group of Christians; and used to hold a Small Group meeting in my home.

What I've found; over the years; is that it's easier to teach what is in the bible, than to UNTEACH what isn't!

The question remains: when there is a genuine difference of opinion or interpretation, who decides what books are to be included in or removed from the Bible?

We both know Christ never mentioned there being books included in the Septuagint that were not His inspired Word but you advocate throwing some books in the garbage.

HOW do we KNOW that Jesus NEVER said should a thing?

Isn't it rather hard to prove a negative?

For that matter; HOW do we KNOW that Jesus read the Septuagint?

I remember something about Him reading from the scroll of Isaiah.

The person I made that comment to, was accusing me of being LDS, because of my stand on KJV.

I saw a question; not an ACCUSATION.

But the Mormons have their own problems with the KJV.

On the one hand; they infer (quite strongly I might add) that it is unreliably translated. (Read their Articles of Faith)

Joseph Smith was commanded by GOD (so he claimed) to RETRANSLATE the KJV to get the errors out. He did so, and it is called the Inspired Version.

However; the SLC branch of MORMONism does NOT use it; using instead the KJV which they cast aspersions upon!
