.
He has concluded, for his own convenience, that the scriptures and epistles are not the inerrant word of Yehova.

He’ll have his chance to explain that when he faces Yeshua.

I wouldn’t want to be him!

like many intellectuals of the religious persuasion... he confuses two very different things...as if they are one thing. (that god needs their intellectual power to defend him, and that will be proof of his power) They believe they have to defend God, when He is fully able to do it Himself... see Ananias and Sapphira, Herod the great speech maker and the girl with the divination spirit, Paul on the road to Damascus... God does not need us to defend him... it is the exact opposite. That is why he cut Gideon's army down to almost nothing... from 30,000+ to 300 men.

Believers don't defend the Bible as God's word.
God's Word defends those that believe.

"The LORD said to me, 'You have seen correctly, for I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled.'"
Jeremiah 1:12

and:

"But as surely as God is faithful, our message to you is not 'Yes' and 'No.'
For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us—by me and Silas and Timothy—was not 'Yes' and 'No,' but in him it has always been 'Yes.'
For no matter how many promises God has made, they are 'Yes' in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.
Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us,
set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come."

II Corinthians 1 18-22

Islamokazis think they must kill the unbelievers to prove the power of their God by cutting heads off and ramming it down the throats of those who do NOT believe... on you tube.
But God does not NEED man's help to defend or protect Him... our lives are supposed to be the living testimony to God's POWER, ENGAGEMENT and ACTION in the world.
those who think they can argue and prove UNBELIEVERS into belief, who are willful unbelievers... keep doing the same stupid thing which is a guaranteed failure to work... it is NOT possible to prove anything to those who do not believe and don't want to.

"The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit."
I Corinthians 2:14.

The problem is we have multitudes of people teaching scripture and faith that do not manifest God's power in their personal life or context... they do NOT believe fully themselves... and are trying to figure out HOW to intellectually convince others to believe that which is NOT believable by the natural mind. "Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be." Romans 8:7.

We argue about scripture, doctrine, commentaries, catechisms, source documents, infallibility back and forth out the kazoo, but no heart really are changed... God has to send his Word into the hearts of people and then demonstrate it to them on some internal, spiritual level or they are incapable of believing even if they want to... "Lord I believe, help thou my unbelief."

And the more we try to Prove and Defend our God, his Word and his Spirit or his Church... the more we shred our Faith. The Spirit has to change hearts and minds.

and though religious forums may be interesting, educational and launch meaningful dialog... unless God changes my heart or anyone else's the "believing" mechanism within the human spirit will remain unbelieving.

The foolishness of preaching... works because of the Spirit of God's ability to penetrate and overcome the unbelieving hearts of the preacher and his hearers.
we generate so much strife (including yours truly) with one another that our prayers become ineffective while God sits there shaking his head... "I will come back and work here, when they are done trying to figure me out and prove how I am going to do this or that... Where is my favorite jackass who handled Balaam so well?"
God's word will prove itself... guaranteed... one way or the other...

I believe the course which C. Stanley agreed upon is the correct one, as he did not seek divorce and may have had no responsibility for it. We don’t really know.
