No, an annulment is about the validity of the marriage, not the children.
But if the marriage isn't valid, then the couple is living in sin, fornicating.
Therefore their children are not legitimate, being conceived outside of marriage.
So yes, it IS about the children, too.
But Catholics want their cake and to eat it too, so they invented annulment so's they can get a divorce and still remain *faithful* Catholics.
How accommodating of the church. No point in cutting off the gravy train by driving away a potential source of income.
