I want to thank all of you for your responses concerning Andy Stanley. After some distress, I’ve come to some conclusions about his ministry. I, myself am more comfortable with his dad. I find nothing wrong with small churches and verse by verse exposition on the holy scripture “write them upon your heart” Andy and other megachurch outreach to millennials are problematic. This generation will not stand for the “old time”Gospel. The message has to be gussied up with music and attractive presentations. This is more of an indictment of this generation with “itching ears” than with the tried and true Gospel. I do not believe Andy is heretical. I believe he has a burning heart for this generation and I pray his outreach brings many to a saving faith in Jesus Christ. He’s is a great motivator and lecturer but I suspect some of his scriptural interpretations are a little weak. “heaven and earth will pass away but the word of the Lord stands forever”. Thanks again for helping me clarify my thoughts. Both of my daughters have been very positively impacted by Andy’s ministry.
Papa Stanley focuses on just preaching the Word:
