As I wrote, I realize and accept that we have a different understanding about asking Mary and others who have entered the next life to pray for us.

True; we do.

I base my 'understanding' on what the church of Rome decided should have been put in the Book it assembled.

I've heard that your mileage may vary.

After all; Rome's very first pope (I've been told) wrote this:

2 Peter 1:3
His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness
