Yes, he did change his mind.
It's called *repentance*.
It's written down right there in Scripture. I posted the passages to you before. The one thief initially mocked Him and then CHANGED HIS MIND ie REPENTED, and was saved.
If you choose to not believe Scripture, there's not much anyone can say to you that will sink in.
