Actually the Eden theme does not linger on in the Indo-European religions, nor in other non-Semitic religions as far as I know. The Sumerians (who I believe were Elamo-Dravidian) believed in a primordial egg, while Hindu beliefs I believe are heavily tinged by long relation with Christianity, Manichaenism, Islam

Ketill - Odin/Woden and other Nordic deities were more deities who you placated to keep them away from you, or to take possession of your body during battle. The Germanic gods don't have any tales in which they help humans out of any sense of duty, leave alone love. So, unless this was a battle hymn you prayed, I wonder how you would associate this with the Nordic deities
you then say "nordic father", "saint", "godling", "bodhisattva" -- all four are utterly different. The "NOrdic father" or allfather was Woden/Odin -- hardly a god one pled with, he was pretty nasty, you just tried to placate him to keep him far from you. "Saint" is a Christian term, so different. Godling - a minor deity, again different from Odin. Bodhissatva - one who overcomes the cycle of re-incarnation, again utterly different from the other four -- are you just tossing words together?
Finally - "halo wars" -- really?

It sounds like my spiritual concepts don’t meet your satisfaction.
The Norse Gods are active in my life and your gods of the desert weren’t. I am a better man for having a relationship with my ancestor spirits.
You don’t sound happy for someone who can’t be wrong.

Not really -- your concepts are your own source of satisfaction
I just state that the Norse gods and their worship was not the same as "let me ask them for helping me out" -- these are Christian sentiments and worship. Norse worship was about placating the nordic gods.

If I were going to start a religiona respectable oneit would sound wise. It would draw crowds. It would work. It would make promises that make sense. It would be a religion of wisdom, power, and glory. It would require all sorts of activities for the worshiper to perform. It would be "Scientology".

Hi. I've had a day to think about your posts here.
(1) Please don't get defensive before it's time to do so. This thread was about Christianity, with no mention of odinism in the original post.
(2) I do have a question, though. Were you brought up in a Name-It-and-Claim-It form of churchianity, where God is supposed to be your genie in a bottle?
Your sense of entitlement is quite reminiscent of Osteen and any of the other false prophets of Blab-It-and Grab-It.

P.S. I didn’t generate that meme.
It came up in a Bing search on
“osteen false prophet”.

Since you’ve already decided how I should reply, reply to yourself.
You’ve only proven to me I can have no more part with Christians.
