Call them demons, extra-dimentsional entities or just plain mental illness, the end result is the same, the complete destruction of their lives and the lives of others....

Has he found any insurance companies that will cover treatment of demonic possession? I suspect that when he can find insurance coverage, he can find a more traditional diagnosis.

He is at work on a book about demonic possession in the United States.
Hate to be cynical here, but these seems like a possible motivation for exaggerating what he is actually seeing.

I believe I’ve met a few possessed persons. They’re all mentally ill as well, and mostly that’s what they portray. Buy they also go beyond it into an absolutely ferocious malevolence, and a preternatural talent for causing serous problems in other people’s lives. I think, if a person is sane, and becomes possessed, the demonic force drives them insane because of its hateful presence. I also think people GET possessed by playing with things they know they shouldn’t touch. So ultimately it comes from contempt for God’s laws, one way or another. Play with fire, you’re going to get burned - hold fire in contempt, it’s going to kill you.

For anyone interested there is already a book out there like this and its been out since 2005...
Glimpses of the Devil: A Psychiatrists Personal Accounts of Possession, Exorcism and Redemption
by M. Scott Peck
He wrote the Road less traveled which was a best seller...he moved on to the healing human evil and the People of the Lie..
And finally Glimpses of the devil
Psychiatry was his life's work and he always worked with priests
and when psychoanalysis and stuff like that did not work it finally came to rest on the demonic...you can mock it and make fun of it if you want. But its real and one day will be recognized as a field.

This author of this story is careless or incompetent or a member of the pervert persuasion.
"Priestess" suggests a biological female...
However, she acknowledged worshipping Satan as his queen Makes the issue unclear...

There still is the position of EXORCIST in the Catholic Church. Doesn’t happen often, but it does happen. Shudder!!
To: Petrosius
We have a young girl in our church who is undergoing exorcism. They’ve had complete medical work-ups and months with psychiatrists who had no answer. They thought it was some kind of panic attacks at first.
I have seen her several times during episodes and it is disturbing. Luckily we do have a trained exorcist in our diocese and he and several priests are involved.
Pray for her.
