I ask your prayers for my father. He is eighty-eight years old and has been living alone since my mother died eight years ago. He has been in excellent health and condition for a man his age. He still drives. He is active in his church, the American Legion, and volunteers at the information desk of his county courthouse. He is a valued neighbor and member of his community. He went into the hospital last week for some bad back pain, an issue that pops up every couple of years. He also had a case of cellulitis, which was not responding terribly well to the antibiotics. They also found arterial fibrillation, which might be something new. He had not had any heart issues before.
My aunt has been feeding me some very alarming information about his condition (probably from my cousin, who is a nurse), and how even treatment for the heart issue can be life-threatening. I don't know if I want to believe her. I have to trust that the doctors will do the right thing, and that God will watch over their work.
I ask your prayers for the restoration of the health of a very vital man -- a good and kind man, a proud veteran of the Korean War era, and a patriot. I am thankful for having him for my fifty-nine years -- a lot longer than a lot of people have their parents. But I am scared, and I still need him.
Thank you.

Praying for your father, and for you and your whole family.
Prayers for pops
The prayers of FReepers (and God's response) are why I am here more than 18 months after I went into a sudden coma from massive kidney failure and remained in coma for three weeks expected to die each and every one of the first 17 days. Never doubt the power of our prayers. We ask God for what we want and, in His love for us, He gives us what we need.
Your dad has had 88 years, mostly good years and is still productive and loved by those around him. May he have as many more as he wants and as God sees fit to give him.
May our Father in heaven who lovingly formed your dad in his mother's womb so many years ago intervene on his behalf as only the Divine Physician can, heal his heart, cure that cellulitis, make the antibiotics effective, and restore his health, giving him confidence in resuming his useful life. May God also comfort him and his loved ones through this crisis and beyond. We ask this in Jesus's holy name.
May God bless him, you and yours!
If he’s been diagnosed with hear issues for the first time at 88 he’s doing much better than most. I am 78 and had a coronary artery bypass graft(CABG)at 70. Still functional and not ready to throw in the towel yet. My point is that one can live on with some heart problems so you and he should not despair. He is in my prayers.
Lord Jesus, restore the health of Thy servant.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, amen.
Thanks for your Dad’s name . Loren is now in my daily prayers. Please keep us posted.

Adding my prayer for your father
Prayers up.
Dear L-rd, please watch over the father of FReeper Southside_Chicago_Republican and guard, guide and protect him, guide his Dr.s and other care-givers in their care of him, restore his health and return him to his loved ones safely; comfort his family and grant them strength and faith in your healing hand; in the name of Jesus I pray, AMEN.
Prayers.
I’d be honored to pray for your dad, and for you.
Thanks again to all for your prayers, concerns, and practical advice. I trust that God can and will help my father according to his will. As my priest always tells us— your prayers are very powerful. I do know that I have been helped. I fought against a terrible anxiety all day, and now I am much more at peace.
I am so glad to be a part of this community. God bless all of you. I will keep you updated.
Prayers up for your Dad.
In my opinion, ibuprofen should have a black box warning.

Keeping your dear Father in my daily prayers.
Prayers that your dad will be restored to health and home in time for Father’s Day.
My father is doing better today. He is not quite out of the woods yet, but he is much better. Thanks to all for your prayers and good wishes, and “praise God from whom all blessings flow.”
